Can the location compete with international gaming industry hubs like Canada and the UK – or are the conditions for immigration still too challenging?
“As far as I know, Germany has significantly simplified visa issuance for highly qualified migrants in recent years,” says Tanja Loktionova, co-founder of the international recruitment agency Values Value, whom we also consulted for IGM 15 for their market assessment. The visa facilitations have undoubtedly led to a significant influx of new professionals, observes the expert. While German gaming companies might not offer the highest salaries on a European average, “they consistently provide excellent social benefits.” As a result, professionals from Eastern Europe and the MENA region are keen to come to Germany, according to Loktionova. However, Scandinavians, for example, are noticeably more selective when it comes to choosing a location”.
